Jackie’s smiling and welcoming face is usually the first thing patients see when they arrive. Jackie has worked with Dr. Mayers for more than 19 years and enjoys greeting patients, checking them out as they leave, helping with scheduling appointments as calls come in, and ordering office supplies. Jackie’s highest priority is providing an exceptional and positive experience for our patients. She truly enjoys interacting with our patients and making them feel welcome.
Outside the office, Jackie is married to her husband, Bill, and has two married daughters and six grandchildren. When she can find the time, she likes to scrapbook, quilt, and go hunting for waterfalls.
Registered Dental Hygienist/Treatment Coordinator
For Carol, it is extremely rewarding to have an opportunity to positively impact the lives of our patients and their families by creating beautiful, straight smiles. Her primary role as treatment coordinator is to ensure a successful orthodontic experience from initial examination, to treatment consultation, and coordination of financial contracts. Following the initial phone contact, Carol, who has worked for Dr. Mayers for 33 years, is the first person our patients spend time with; spending time with and getting to know the patients and their families is a wonderful and fulfilling part of her job.
Carol lives with her husband, Dan, who is the director of the library at Hillsdale College. Together, they have three grown children and three grandchildren, as well as a cat, Ginger, who is 19 years old. In her free time, Carol enjoys walking, reading, traveling, and spending time with friends and family.
Registered Dental Hygienist
If there’s anything that Shanda is passionate about, it’s oral health care. As a dental hygienist, she loves helping our patients maintain healthy mouths and loves to see our patients grow and mature over the course of their treatment. Shanda has found orthodontics to be a very rewarding experience. Shanda, who is with our patients every step of the way during their treatment, enjoys interacting with our patients and asking about which activities they are currently involved in at school.
At home, Shanda is married with three children, and owns a dog. She also attends many sports events, volunteers at local schools, and attends most school board meetings. When she finds the time, she enjoys running; it is her passion in life as well as a stress reliever. Shanda has participated in a number of marathons, including the Tough Mudder.

Peggy is one of our registered dental hygienists helping treat patients in our clinic.Working with a teams she considers family, makes it enjoyable to come to work. She also enjoys the challenge work provides and takes pleasure in seeing the amazing transformation our patients undergo during treatment. Peggy works hard tomake each patient feel comfortable with her lively personality, you'll likely hear her first when entering the clinic.
Peggy and her husband have been married since 1983 and have one grown daughter, Makena. They live on a hobby farm in Lenawee County, where they raise pigs and chickens, and also have three dogs. When she finds the time, Peggy enjoys getting together with her book club, garden club, and cooking class. She also enjoys crafting, quilting, gardening, traveling, and amateur photography.
Registered Dental Hygienist and Financial Coordinator
A lot of people can't say they enjoy what they do or who they work with. For Nancy,who is a registered dental hygienist and has been with Dr. Mayers since 1982, the office is a family and we support each other in all aspects, both work and home. Nancy’s favorite part about her job is witnessing first hand how orthodontics improves our patients’ lives and self esteem. Besides answering any questions our patients may have about their treatment, Nancy also oversees most financial matters such as entering contracts and working with our patient's insurance providers.She also orders all the clinical supplies to keep our office running smoothly.
Nancy has been married to her husband, Carl, since 1981. She has two grown children and one granddaughter, Amberlynn, as well as a mini schnauzer she rescued.Nancy's passion is cross stitching which she has been doing for over 30 years. In her spare time, Nancy enjoys playing with her granddaughter, walking her dog, traveling, listening to audio books, golfing and being a passenger on her husband's motorcycle.
