There is never a charge for your initial examination. The initial examination includes:
- a panoramic x-ray,
- a full set of photos and
- a comprehensive examination.
Following this, Dr. Mayers will discuss in detail your treatment including any options for treatment and the pros and cons of each option. For your convenience, if treatment is indicated, diagnostic records can often be taken on the same day. These additional records are used to develop a custom treatment plan for each patient, which will be presented at a subsequent treatment consultation appointment. These records are also helpful in tracking the progress of treatment as the teeth move under orthodontic care. While the initial examination is complimentary, there is a charge for the diagnostic records and treatment consultation.
In order to save you time during your visit, please fill out the Health History Questionnaire which will be mailed to you. If you have misplaced the form, you can print a copy by clicking on the link below.
The appointment during which your braces are placed on your teeth usually takes from one to two hours. However, once the braces are on, the appointment intervals can generally be extended for your convenience to as infrequently as every 6-12 weeks! These long appointment intervals are made possible because Dr. Mayers implements the latest technologies and techniques. These advanced techniques allow longer intervals between visits and yet accelerate overall treatment time.
We are proud that our office is known for staying on schedule and on time. It is very rare that a patient needs to wait even a few minutes. Our patients appreciate this refreshing change from the typical doctor’s office experience. In order to maintain this high level of efficiency, if you ever need to make a change to an appointment, please notify us immediately.
We work hard to make orthodontics affordable. The cost of treatment depends on the complexity of the patient's treatment. In most cases we will be able to discuss fees and payment options with you during your first visit. For your convenience, we offer many payment options. Financial arrangements can be made to extend your payments over a period of months. Most families find automatic debit from their checking or savings account to be convenient. We also accept payment by Visa or Mastercard.
As a service to you, if you have insurance, the insurance company will be called for verification of coverage and estimated amount of coverage. We accept assignment of benefits from most insurance plans and will file the necessary forms to the insurance company for you.
