Indirect bonding is a method of applying brackets for braces to the teeth in such a manner that an entire set of braces can be precisely applied for optimal smile design.  Treatment planning for our teen and adult patients is done digially.  Each brace or Invisalign tray is custom-fabricated for the anatomy of each individual tooth to improve results and reduce treatment visits.  Placement of braces or Invisalign attachments is done using a tray or "template" to ensure everything goes on in the most ideal position with our smile design being the ultimate goal!

Indirect Bonding Process

Your own teeth will have to undergo some preparatory work in order to accept the braces or attachments. This involves preparing the surface of the teeth for the adhesive for the braces. Then the adhesive is placed in the template and it is fit over the teeth like a clear retainer.  A specially-designed UV light is focused on the tray for about one minute per tooth.  Then the tray is then removed and everything is in place!  You will then be fitted with either your initial set of aligners or orthodontic wires if you have Lightforce braces!  The entire visit is about 60 minutes.

Adjustments to Your Braces

You will be seen approximately every eight to 15 weeks. When needed, adjustments will be made to the wires that run through the braces.   If you have braces, you’ll also need to follow a diet free of sticky, chewy, or crunchy foods, because you could have increased chance of breakage of your braces.
