Hope’s smiling and welcoming face is usually the first thing patients see when they arrive. She started her career in the dental field in 1995 as an oral surgical assistant and joined our team in 2016. Hope’s highest priority is to provide an exceptional and positive experience for our patients and their families. She loves seeing the transformation of our patients’ confidence as they go through treatment and noticing how much more they smile! She truly enjoys interacting with everyone and making all feel welcome.
Hope and her husband Allen have a 15-year-old daughter, Savannah, as well as two dogs and a cat. In her spare time, Hope loves to read, cook, and spend time with her family and friends.
For Dawn, it is extremely rewarding to have an opportunity to positively affect the lives of our patients and their families by creating beautiful, straight smiles. Her primary role as treatment coordinator is to ensure a successful orthodontic experience from initial examination, to treatment consultation, and coordination of financial contracts. Following the initial phone contact, Dawn is the first person our patients spend time with. She loves working with our patients and families and walking them through the orthodontic experience. Dawn finds it very rewarding to see patients who are nervous about treatment or unhappy with their smiles bloom from this experience.
Dawn and her husband Don operate a farm in Hillsdale County. She is the mother of twin boys who recently completed their orthodontic experience. In addition, she also has an older stepson/stepdaughter with two beautiful grandsons. In her spare time, she loves to lift weights, cross-stitch, read, and spend time at the lake with family and friends.
Registered Dental Hygienist/Lab
If there’s anything that Shanda is passionate about, it’s oral health care. Shanda, who is with our patients every step of the way during their treatment, enjoys helping our patients maintain healthy mouths and loves to see our patients grow and mature over the course of their treatment. Shanda feels incredibly fortunate to work with such an exceptional orthodontist and team, and recommends our office to everyone she meets!
Shanda has been married for 22 years and has three children, (including a set of twins). She attends many sports events and volunteers at her kids’ school. When she finds the time, she enjoys working out at the gym and playing golf with her husband.
Registered Dental Hygienist/Lab
Peggy is one of our registered dental hygienists, helping treat patients in our clinic. Behind the scenes, she also works in our lab and fabricates most of the appliances we use. She enjoys the challenges that her work provides and takes pleasure in seeing the amazing transformation that our patients undergo during treatment. Peggy works hard to make each patient feel comfortable with her lively personality—you’ll likely hear her first when entering our office!
Peggy and her husband have been married since 1983 and have one grown daughter, Makena. They live on a hobby farm in Lenawee County, where they raise chickens and veggies, and have two dogs named Oscar and Ernie. When she finds the time, Peggy enjoys baking, photography, crafting, reading, and yoga.
RDH Clinical, Insurance Coordinator
A lot of people can't say they enjoy what they do or who they work with. For Nancy, a registered dental hygienist who has been with Dr. Mayers since 1982, our office is a family that supports each other in all aspects, both work and home. Besides answering any questions our patients may have about their treatment, Nancy also oversees most financial matters such as entering contracts and working with our patients’ insurance providers. She also orders all the clinical supplies to keep our office running smoothly. Nancy’s favorite part about her job is witnessing firsthand how orthodontics improves our patients’ lives and self-esteem.
Nancy has been married to her husband, Carl, since 1981. She has two grown children and two grandchildren. Nancy’s passion is cross-stitching, having completed well over 400 pieces. She has stitched several memorials for military families that have lost a son in foreign conflicts. Nancy recently moved to enjoy the lake life!
